Who We Are

Welcome to WORFAF

The Women and Orphans Rights to Family Assets Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, committed to defending the rights of women and orphans to inherit and retain family assets without discrimination.

In many communities — especially across Eastern Nigeria — widows, spinsters and young orphans are still deprived of their lawful inheritance, purely on account of gender or social status. This injustice persists despite Supreme Court rulings that guarantee equal rights to property for both men and women.

At WORFAF, we believe that the right to property is inseparable from the Right to Live. We work to ensure that no woman or orphan is stripped of dignity, security or survival because of cultural bias or systemic neglect.

Defending the Right to Live

Our Vision

“A society where every woman and orphan enjoys equal rights to family assets and inheritance, free from cultural bias and gender-based injustice.”

Our Mission

Championing legal, social and economic empowerment.

To champion the legal, social and economic empowerment of women and orphans by:

  • Advocating for the enforcement of equal inheritance rights;

  • Educating communities to challenge discriminatory traditions;
